Modern linguistics: semantic analysis, creation of large text corpora, language modeling
The platform is designed to bring together scientists whose research interests are related to natural language. In recent years, the development of computer science has enriched the science of language, linguistics, with new challenges and new research methods. These include, in particular, 1) ontological semantics, which enables deep semantic analysis of texts that makes use not only of linguistic information proper, but also information of the real world, 2) corpus linguistics, which embraces large text corpora with varied annotation types: these are used for research purposes and lots of applications; 3) modern linguistic modeling which relies on rule-based approaches and those based on novel machine learning techniques, including neural networking. The conference views linguistics not only as a traditionally humanitarian research area but also as an interdisciplinary field of knowledge where specialists pursuing various subject domains find common language and common vision.
